E-lim

Electric Line Integrity Monitor

E-lim is an innovative technology to inspect electric wire lines. It is a magneto-inductive device dedicated to wire-armour control. When broken wires or defects occur, a modification of the magnetic flux lines appear. These changes in value and direction are detected by a sensor that transforms these physical phenomena into a readable signal. E-lim comes with software that reads these signals and shows them as spikes on a graph.

Current E-line Wire Routine Inspection Check

After first 25 runs, if cable appears to be seasoning normally and no issues are detected then inspect every 100 runs. This frequency is flexible and will vary depending on the variables listed. Maintenance should include, but may not be limited to:

• Inspect for loose armour and tighten if necessary
• Inspect for brittleness and cut back to good cable if necessary
• Inspect for kinks and other bad spots and correct problems
• Check for excessive corrosion and pitting of armour wires
• Brush outer armour wires and coat with a suitable line oil
